To date, we have raised

$8,803

With four days left to get donations in,
won't you please help us get to
$10,000?

All funds raised by November 13, 2007
count towards our total!
YOU can help us get that last $1,197,
making this project not just a success, but a
BLOCKBUSTER

to donate today
$10, $20, $100 - it all helps
LIONS FOR HOPE
CITY OF HOPE WALK FOR HOPE
TO CURE BREAST CANCER

Our original goal was $5,000. Lions have stepped up and help us blow that goal out of the water, so we’re
hoping to ride that wave all the way to DOUBLE that original goal, or $10,000 for breast cancer research!

Success!

In between two storms, District 4-C6 Lions had an absolutely picture-perfect day to walk the Embarcadero for City of Hope Walk for Hope. We were a colorful group and stood out in the crowd of pinks with our purple shirts and pink boas and scarves and pink sprayed hair.

A picture is worth a thousand words and I'm not going to even attempt to say what a grand time we all had. See for yourself the smiles on our faces by viewing my Photoshow entitled Lions for Hope. Click here to view or click on the Photo Show to the right and be sure and make it full screen. If you'd like a DVD copy, let me know, and I'll be happy to burn one for you.

We had about 20 walkers from the District and we were the second highest fundraiser with 56 team members. Gallo Sales was number one with 210 members. We'll have to see what we can do next year to top them. We have 30 days to continue to add to our donations, so if you have some friends, relatives or neighbors who forgot, there's still time.

Thank you to all who joined the team and donated to the team and made it a huge success. The original goal was set at $5,000 and we far surpassed that goal and I believe we'll top the $8,000 mark. Thanks, too, for the enthusiastic support of Gov. Bob, First Lady Suzie, City of Hope Chair Maureen Moore and City of Hope Committee Member Joe Pugliese who said go for it when I asked if I could start a District 4-C6 Lions team. And a great big thank you to all the walkers who drove to San Francisco very early on a dark Saturday morning, not knowing if it was going to rain or not, and who made it a very fun day.

Awesome job, Lions!

Thank you!

Wow, is all I can say. We are over the $7,000 mark, thanks to the marvelous fundraising skills of those of you on the team and all who supported you. We still have 30 days past the day of the walk to keep those contributions coming in, so don't stop now! After 30 days, City of Hope will tally up the totals and your prizes will be mailed to you.

Don't worry about the weather. According to the forecast, Saturday should be on the chilly side but at least not wet. So wear layers and comfortable shoes. E-mail me if you have any questions.

You should have received your letter from City of Hope enclosing your walk bib. Best way to wear it is to attach it to your clothing with safety pins, front or back.

We'll see you Saturday morning between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. at Applebee's, Highway 280 and Saratoga Ave. We will leave at 7:00 to get to the walk by 8:00. If you're not carpooling, meet us at Justin Herman Plaza where there will be a staging area for teams and we'll take our team photo. Parking at Embarcadero 4 should not be a problem. Follow the directions found on your walk bib.

Again, a great big thank you for all your hard work!
